Practical Basketball moves
The same key is not the same move in both hands. C is a right-hand hesitation and a left-hand crossover. Z is the mirror. That single rule fixes more “why did I get the wrong animation” questions than any tier list. The charts below come from TechWiser and Gamepur, which agree on the PC inputs. Timing notes come from written guides. I do not have frame data, so I will not tell you to press on frame 12.
Four groups
- Finishing: layup, floater, euro, hop, spin gather, driving dunk, standing dunk, self lob.
- Playmaking: five pass types, screens, alley-oops.
- Dribbling: hesi, crossover, tween, behind the back, spin, shammgod.
- Post: post up, dropstep, post hook, post fade.
Open one move
- Spin move — V for a half spin, C X Z or Z X C for a full spin.
- Hesi — C or Z when the defender leans.
- Self lob — F with momentum, then finish. Some people write Shift+F.
- Dribbling — short changes of direction beat holding sprint.
- Defense — body position. No public chart lists a steal key or a block key.

Controller players flick the right stick for spins and use the d-pad for standing hesis. The full button chart is on the controls page. Builds decide whether the animation you called is even in your package: an 81 handle is the Curry Slide line in the do-it-all guide, and a 25 standing dunk means the hold-Space dunk is not your tool.
FAQ
Why does C sometimes crossover?
C is a hesi in the right hand and a crossover from the left hand.
Where are the keys?
The controls page has the PC and controller tables.
What is the difference between a half spin and full spin?
The two matching PC charts assign V to a half spin and C-X-Z or Z-X-C to a full spin, with the hand determining the sequence.
